It takes up very little space, it can be operated by one or two people, and it is priced for a laboratory budget. So, it can be used for product development without requiring or tying up expensive production equipment and personnel. Also, its small scale is Thelpful for keeping the technology of the products being developed proprietary. We have made two of these laboratory models for academic and research institutions.<br \/>\nThe Finn and Fram Laboratory SMC Machine has the basic components of production SMC Machines.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1115\" src=\"https:\/\/www.finnandfram.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/LabSMCphoto1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"288\" \/>That is, two single-roll film payout stations, two precision doctor blade assemblies, a fiber cutter that can be used for fiberglass, carbon, and other brittle fibers, a 17-processing- roller 2-zone, dual-wire-mesh belt compaction module and a single-spindle winder. Additional optional features are a cloth payout, continuous fiber feed, and heated doctor blades and compaction module.
